The Atlanta Eagles FC Classic program is designed for athletes in the U13 to U18 age groups who seek a highly competitive level of participation. Atlanta Eagles provides an incredible youth development program, which results in state, regional, and national qualifications. Our primary focus for Classic athletes is to prepare them for high school, Olympic Development Programs (ODP), and ultimately for college. Athletes come from all over Metro Atlanta to compete in the AEFC program.
Atlanta Eagles expects athletes who represent the club to maintain high standards of personal behavior both on and off the field. We place great importance on academics and expect players to maintain high qualifications in school. We look to parents to ensure that their AEFC athletes reach practices, games, and club meetings on time.
Classic teams train twice a week and play weekend matches against teams from other clubs around the atlanta area. Additionally, teams may choose to participate in various local or regional tournaments.
Tryouts and Team Selection
Classic Athletes compete in tryouts every year in May/June. Tryouts are evaluated by our coaches and staff. Positions on teams are based on skill and quality, while keeping in minds that attitude and potential is very important to us as well. It is important to understand that not every athlete will be selected for a specific program, and we do urge athletes to continue training and trying out.
Information on registering for evaluations and tryouts can be found under the Tryouts link above. Recreational players can be selected to play with classic teams at any time throughout the year. As long as you are not registered with another Academy club, you may tryout for Atlanta Eagles FC. Players who are already registered with other academy teams, must obtain permission from them in order to transfer.
Classic Program Commitment
Practices are where learning and development take place, therefore participants must attend both practices per week, with the possibility of a third session. We do understand that personal conflicts do arise in which athletes cannot attend a practice. However, without participation in practice, players cannot expect to participate in competition. Other activities (Vacations, Homework, etc.) should be considered before committing to a program.
By accepting a place on a select team roster, a player commits to play the full seasonal year, June through May. For athletes up to and including U14, this includes both the fall and the spring season. For U15 through U18, there is only one season of soccer in the fall.
Seasons
Classic athletes compete during the fall and spring, finishing off the fiscal year. For U15 through U18, there is only one season of soccer in the fall, in order for them to participate in their high school programs.
Tournaments
Atlanta Eagles allows parents and coaches to elect what tournaments they wish to participate in as a team. However, all teams must participate in 2 tournaments elected by the club.
Locations
Tryouts and practices will be held at the Atlanta Eagles Soccer Academy Facility in Lilburn, Ga. The classic program only offers outdoor practices.

Determining your Age Group
The U.S. Youth Soccer Association groups athletes into competitive age groups. The "U" in U12 stands for Under 12 years old. To determine a players age, take their age on July 31st and add one year. For example, a child born on 9/25/2002 would be 11 years old on July 31st, 2014. This child is a U12 (Under 12) year old player for the soccer season beginning in August 2014.
